The Dr. Shahabuddin M. Hossain award is given to a young economist of Bangladesh origin. Eligible nominees should be current Ph.D. students or have received their PhDs within the last three years. Submitted papers do not need to be limited on Bangladesh or Development Economics related fields.
The award is named in the memory of Dr. Shahabuddin M. Hossain, who has served as the General Secretary and Vice-President of AEDSB. He worked towards economic prosperity and poverty reduction as a development economist, a senior Economist at IMF, and as an advisor to the Governor of Bangladesh Bank. He has made lasting contributions to the community of scholars working on economic development in Bangladesh.
All the submissions and nominations for the award will be evaluated by a three-member panel, consisting of Fahad Khalil, Urmee Khan, and Atonu Rabbani.
